Follow on Google News | U.S. Chamber and RecruitMilitary to Present Vet Hiring Event at U. of Phoenix Stadium on October 13The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the military-to-civilian recruitment firm RecruitMilitary will collaborate on a hiring event for military veterans at University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, in Glendale, Arizona, on October 13.
The RecruitMilitary- On March 24, the U.S. Chamber had already launched “Business Steps Up: Hiring Our Heroes,” a year-long effort to help veterans and their spouses find employment by means of veteran hiring events. The U.S. Chamber has scheduled more than 100 Hiring Our Heroes events across the nation through March 2012. Already scheduled to attend the Phoenix event are the Air Force Reserve, Amazon, Anthem College Online Military Division, Argosy University, the Arizona Air National Guard, the Arizona Army National Guard, Brown Mackie College, Chancellor University, Country Financial, Data Systems and Technology Inc., DeVry University, G4S Secure Solutions (USA), Georgia School of Construction, Grand Canyon University, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), ITT Technical Institute, Lockheed Martin Corporation, the National Veterans Employment Program (NVEP) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Prudential Insurance Company, Quicken Loans, Snap-On Tools, The Art Institutes, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), TriWest Healthcare Alliance, Union Institute and University, the United States Secret Service, and Verizon Wireless. RecruitMilitary will produce 10 additional Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expos in 2011—on October 20 in Atlanta and Kansas City, October 27 in Jacksonville, November 3 in Philadelphia and Seattle, November 10 in Dallas, November 17 in Charlotte and Norfolk, December 1 in San Diego, and December 8 in Houston. To maximize the number of employers participating in those events as well as the job opportunities for veterans and military spouses, RecruitMilitary is offering companies that are members of the U.S. Chamber and local chambers a 10% discount on the cost of their exhibition booths. Additionally, RecruitMilitary will offer further price reductions for small businesses (businesses that have less than 50 employees), and even lower rates for veteran-owned small businesses.
