Colorado IT Firm Embraces Green

Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- HOUSTON – Colorado Hi-Tech Solutions (CHTS) of Colorado Springs provides IT support to more than  200 medical, law, and accounting offices, as well as fast food and professional sports franchises.  The firm recently enrolled with the Green Business Bureau (GBB) to begin the process of green business certification.
“In our industry, we see the huge negative impact electronic waste creates,” says Lindsey Hostetler of CHTS. “We feel going green is a wise decision not only to better the environment, but also offset the effect our business has on the environment.”
CHTS employs a number of green practices, including recycling electronic waste and separating and recycling paper, aluminum, and plastic items. The company purchases post-consumer recycled products for our office and is in the process of becoming paperless.
When searching for a green certification, CHTS chose the GBB program based on its credibility and recognition in the industry.  
“We want to stand out among our peers as a responsible, environmentally-conscious organization that others in our community will look to as an example,” says Hostetler.  “We want to be on the leading edge, not only in our industry, but in becoming green as well.”
