Windsor Building Services Achieves Gold Level Green Business Certification

As a company focused on providing clean environments to its clients, Windsor has demonstrated its commitment to enhancing its service offering and upholding its mission by achieving the Green Business Bureau’s (GBB) Gold Level green business certification.
“Many businesses are looking for a Green standard and as a janitorial company; we are gaining a competitive advantage by differentiating ourselves as a Green company,” says Mary Robinson, Windsor’s President and Owner.  “Not to mention that we are providing a cleaner and healthier work environment!”
Robinson goes on to say that she has seen increase in development of green buildings which continue to form the market for green cleaning products and services. By going Green, she anticipates a sizeable growth in business this year.
Windsor became a member of the GBB in 2010.  Robinson says she chose the GBB because the initiatives were simple everyday things that the company could easily implement into its procedures. “We chose GBB because going green is a process, and the program offered steps that were more easily managed,” she says, “and we felt motivated to make changes immediately.”
The GBB offers three levels of certification, Aware, Gold and Platinum.  To achieve Gold Level certification, Windsor accrued 200 points by completing a menu of green initiatives.  Gold certification with GBB requires the implementation of a robust mix of practices that demonstrate Windsor commitment to environmental responsibility.  
Now that the company has achieved Gold Level certification, says Robinson, they will begin implementing the more advanced initiatives in the GBB program.  
“How far will Windsor go?” says Robinson. “That’s yet to be determined, but we feel we are on the path that will lead our company into a whole new level of service.”
