Property Management Firm Takes a New Lease on Green

Flats Chicago, a full-service property management firm, recently enrolled with the Green Business Bureau to begin the process of becoming green business certified.

July 3, 2012 - PRLog -- CHICAGO – Chicago-based Flats Chicago is a knowledgeable, innovative full-service property management firm specializing in the acquisition, stabilization and management of distressed assets.  The company recently enrolled with the Green Business Bureau (GBB) to begin the process of becoming green business certified.
The team at Flats Chicago knows that being green is a responsibility that impacts everyone, says Heather Fritz, Flats Chicago’s Creative Director, and going green for the company was not a question of if, but a question of when.
Prior to enrolling with the GBB, Flats Chicago was using recycled office supplies and recycling paper, plastic, and glass within the office.  Future plans for their Uptown, Andersonville and Edge Water rental buildings include green roof tops, recycling existing building materials during construction. The team chose the GBB program because it is widely recognized, says Fritz, and has a well-designed program for tracking progress as Flats Chicago moves forward on its path to green.
For a company dealing with investments, Flats Chicago is keenly aware that going green is an investment in the future.
“Being environmentally conscientious is an investment in our future,” says Fritz. “We hope by going green we will enlighten our employees to take home the practices they learn at the office, and encourage our tenants to embrace a similar mindset.”
