Office Gemini Achieves Gold Level Green Business Certification

As a company that endeavors to be paperless in its own offices, as well as providing software solutions the enable its customers to do the same, Office Gemini has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by achieving the Green Business Bureau’s (GBB) Gold Level green business certification.
“Office Gemini strives to be a paperless company itself,” says Carla Delaguila, Office Gemini’s Marketing and Communications Director. “We also offer two products, Dokmee, a document management software, and Diamond Vision production level scanning software that allow other businesses to cut down on their paper consumption, as well.”
In addition to being paperless, Office Gemini has implemented a number of other green practices, including the elimination of plastic cups, plates, and utensils in the break room.  “Every employee brought their own cups, utensils, and plates for reuse,” says Delaguila.  What paper is used in the office is being recycled, and when not in use, laptops, computers, and lights are switched off to save electricity and cut down on energy costs.
“Each department has also brought in plants to help raise the oxygen levels in the office,” says Delaguila.
Delaguila goes on to say that joining the GBB brought awareness and knowledge about going green to the Office Gemini team.  Membership in the GBB helped the entire team learn about green initiatives they could employ in their daily lives, she says.
“Our new knowledge has helped us write more effective blogs about going green with Document Management Software and to teach others the effective ways of going paperless and going green,” says Delaguila.
It was this process of letting clients and potential clients in the document management industry know the benefits of going paperless and how it can help businesses be more eco-friendly that drove Office Gemini to work toward the Gold Level Certification.
The GBB offers three levels of certification, Aware, Gold and Platinum.  To achieve Gold Level certification, Office Gemini accrued 200 points by completing a menu of green initiatives.  Gold certification with GBB requires the implementation of a robust mix of practices that demonstrate Office Gemini’s commitment to environmental responsibility.  
Delaguila says that with a little work and the cooperation of Office Gemini’s  great set of employees  reaching Gold status  “was pretty easy”.  “Everyone here at Office Gemini was eager to do their part,” she says.
