Follow on Google News | The Amazing Story of the Recycled Dog That Recycles Shared with Kristen Powers Hostess of PetzRock!.Max A Pooch's sidekick Keith Sanderson is a featured guest on the Pet Life Radio show Petz Rock. There he shares details about Max A. Pooch and why his message is so powerful.
By: Keith Sanderson Kristen Powers was named 2010 Teen of the Year by PARADE MAGAZINE, and her show has a large teen following. The teen audience is an important one for Max A. Pooch's message. The message makes a link between the 4,000,000 abandoned dogs that are destroyed and the countless tons of litter that are discarded annually. Both are the results of people discarding things without thinking about the cost, environmental impact or other consequences of their actions. Max helps make that connection very real, because had he not been rescued from an animal control facility by Orphans of the Storm http://www.orphansofthestorm.org he could have been one of those 4,000,000 dogs who end up in the bottom of a landfill each year. He also physically demonstrates that finding and reducing litter is so easy even a dog can do it. In addition to appearing on Petz Rock, Max A. Pooch and Keith are also scheduled to appear on another radio show in September; Megan Blake's "A Super Smiley Adventure on Pet Life Radio on September 14. Recently, Max and his sidekick Keith Sanderson were featured as part of Lake County, IL's "How to go green," initiative, and at a major fund raiser for Orphans of the Storm, www.orphansofthestorm.org one of the country's oldest and largest animal shelters. Max Pooch's website is http://www.maxapooch.com Currently, Max A. Pooch is among the top contestants in a contest whose winner will have his or her face on a Times Square, NY City billboard. Keith thinks this would be an awesome means to grow awareness of Max A. Pooch the recycled dog who recycles. You can vote for Max at http://about.me/ If Max A. Pooch were to win the contest, the exposure for Max's story and his mission would be priceless. Max's story has much appeal. It can best be summarized by what Animal Planet's David Mizejewski wrote in his blog about Max. David wrote, "I couldn't resist one more dog-related story because this is so awesome. Check out the video about a "recycled" black lab that is now on a mission to recycle trash. I think this is such a clever and useful way to channel the lab's innate retrieving instinct for the greater good." http://www.youtube.com/ Max A. Pooch is rapidly growing in popularity because in these times of stress and crisis people are looking for positive messages that communicate an individual can make a difference. "That is perhaps the most important message Max has," says Sanderson of Max who was rescued from an animal control facility by Lincolnshire, IL Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter. Max was discarded by his owners. Sanderson believes, "It's appropriate a recycled dog should remind us to stop and think about the consequences of our actions before we act. Something as trivial as throwing a bottle along the roadside will impact us all; or abandoning a dog will always impact others. It's time we thought before we discard things." Max A. Pooch and Keith enjoy making appearances in front of audiences where Keith discusses the three Rs... Reusing, Repurposing and Recycling. He uses Max as an example poitning out the canny canine had been discarded and then saved. Because of that Max now enjoys an opportunity to be reused. He has a new purpose in life and helps find and recycle cans and bottles. Max captures the audience's attention by seeking out and retrieving bottles and cans. This demonstration shows how a recycled retriever's instincts can be repurposed to seek and retrieve litter instead of game. # # # Max A Pooch is an online business that provides information and insight regarding recycling, sustainability, and things green through the co-mingling of information about the recycled dog star Max A. Pooch. End
