Follow on Google News | Animal Planet Blog Writer Describes Max A. Pooch As "Awesome!"Max A. Pooch, the recycled black Labrador retriever who picks up what most people won't recently received praise from David Mizejewski, writer for the Animal Planet Blog, Animal Oddities.
By: Keith Sanderson "The response we've had to what Max is doing is heartening" says Sanderson. "I was really pleased when I read what Animal Planet's David Mizejewski wrote in his blog about Max. David wrote, "I couldn't resist one more dog-related story because this is so awesome. Check out the video about a "recycled" black lab that is now on a mission to recycle trash. I think this is such a clever and useful way to channel the lab's innate retrieving instict for the greater good." http://www.youtube.com/ Max also caught the attention of Lake County, IL. The county features Max A. Pooch as part of its "How to Go Green," Initiative with a video shown on Lake County TV as well as its web site. http://www.prlog.org/ Orphans of the Storm, one of the oldest and largest animal shelters in the nation also positively responsed to Max A. Pooch's video and invited Max and Sanderson to particiapte in their annual Pooch Parade that is held on August 20. Other response includes an indepth interview by Natalie Kaplan of the Deerfield Patch of Keith http://deerfield.patch.com/ In addition Max has received considerable attention through social media such as Face Book and Twitter where he can be found by searching for Max A. Pooch A growing number of readers follow the articles written by Sanderson under the pen name Max A. Pooch on Hub Pages. Sanderson suggests that Max A. Pooch is becoming popular because in these times of stress and crisis people are looking for positive messages that communiate an individual can make a difference. "That is perhaps the most important message Max has," says Sanderson. "Max was discarded by his owners. It's appropriate he reminds us we should all stop and think about the consequences of our actions before we act. Something as trivial as throwing a bottle along the roadside will impact us all; or abandoning a dog will create misery, suffering and perhaps the animal's death." Max A. Pooch and Keith enjoy appearing in front of audiences. Keith first discusses the three Rs... Reusing, Repurposing and Recycling. He uses Max as an example as something that was discarded and saved. Now he enjoys an opportunity to be reused. He has has a new purpose in life and helps find and recycle cans and bottles. Max captures the audience's attention by seeking out and retrieving bottles and cans. This demonstration shows how a recycled retriever's instincts can be repurposed to seek and retrieve litter instead of game. # # # Max A Pooch provides information and insight regarding recycling, sustainability, and things green through the co-mingling of information about the recycled dog star Max A.
