By: CMC Connect (Perception Managers) Limited Mr. Titiloye who called on other corporate organizations to emulate Nigerian Breweries Plc whose brand, Gulder has generated a lot of awareness on the round leather game, boasted that the one of the northern club sides will emerge as the overall winner in this year edition of the Gulder Ultimate 5-A-side Football competition where N8 million is at stake for the final three teams standing. “This is what we have been advocating for; that corporate bodies should come out and support government in the development of the game of soccer. By so doing, it will bring about the needed turnaround of our national teams. In this competition, there is no way raw talents will not emerge, such football talents that can be developed and subsequently placed in the national team” Titiloye disclosed. The football administrator then called on the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to give adequate attention to the development of sports at the grassroots across the country just as the Gulder brand is currently doing with the Gulder-5-A-side Football. Also speaking, the captain of Santos Football Club from Zaria, Mr. Segun Akintunde said that his team is in for a show down with other clubs from the zone, adding that his team will emerge as one of the winners that will eventually pick the qualifying ticket to go to Lagos to compete with winners from the other zones in the country. In his comment, the coordinator of the Ilorin zone, Mr. Bayor Issa also commended Nigerian Breweries Plc for initiating the Gulder 5 A-side Football Competition. He said that Five -A-side Football is a good initiative that will promote unity and the development of football in the country. Some of the results recorded from the 21 matches played on July 19, 2011 are: Olutayo FC =4 Lubcan FC =0 KFA=1 Taju FC= 3 Golden Boys=1 Harmony FC=2 Niger Babes=3 Bliss FC=3 Man United FC=0 All Stars FC =2 Gada FC=0 Mighty FC =1 Nariya FC=7 Gunners FC=4 Ultimate FC=0 Kunbi Fc =5 Titiloye FC=2 Sportspoo=1 Orbit= Sabo Oke =2 Shining Star =1 Other Matches continued on Wednesday July 20 till the last day on Thursday July21 when two teams would have booked their space in the 14 teams that will make it down to Lagos for final showdown on September 5, 2011.
