Two free places on Lakes Expedition Weekend up for grabs!

June 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Fieldskills – the Expedition Experts with bases in Ulverston, Cumbria, and Borneo - have just announced details of a prize draw with a fantastic prize of two free places on one of their expeditions.  The Lake District Adventure Weekend takes place from 16 – 18 September 2011 and promises an action-packed taste of jungle expedition life in a remote corner of the Lake District.  All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize with a value of £300 is to sign up for Fieldskills’ newsletter before 12 noon on 1 Sept 2011.  

Fieldskills Director Dom Hall explains what the expedition will involve: “This is a great chance to see what expedition life is all about.  Friday night should be quite comfortable – we’ll stay in a yurt near Grizebeck.  On Saturday we’ll set off to find an isolated spot to make a jungle-style camp.  I’ll show everyone how to use machetes to get firewood, put
up hammocks and bashas, and make a camp fire as well as trying out some jungle survival skills.  We’ll spend the night in hammocks, then set off for the hills on Sunday to have fun with some expedition scenarios - crossing rivers, dealing with the unexpected and navigating our way back to Grizebeck.”
