Follow on Google News | Miss South Carolina International Launches Campaign for Levine Children's HospitalChelsea Rae Gregory, Miss South Carolina International 2011 is launching a campaign to find gently worn pageant or prom gowns for the Levine's Children's Hospital.
By: chelsea Gregory Since there are about 50 children ranging in age from 13-18 in need of gowns, Chelsea is looking to her pageant sisters and friends from around the US for any gently worn gowns that they may want to donate for the event. Levine Children's Hospital is part of the Carolina Medical Center family of health care. CMC caters to many local Charlotte families who live without health care. "That is why we need to get as many donated gowns as possible," says Chelsea. "Many families cannot afford to buy a gown for their sick child. This prom is going to be an event that these kids will never forget!" Chelsea is working in tandem with Kayla Rose with Plitz Fashion Marketing and The Sand Box in organizing the event which is slated for September 23rd at Founder's Hall in the Bank of America Building in uptown Charlotte. "We don't have a lot of time so I hope all of my pageant sisters and friends who have any kind of gown that they can donate to this very worthy cause will contact me ASAP!" A fashion show using the children as models will be slated for sometime in August as a fund raiser with proceeds going toward An Evening of Stars. Chelsea will be involved with that as well. You can contact Chelsea directly at cgregor3@gardner- # # # Mentors-Matter is a non profit founded by Chelsea Rae Gregory, Miss SC International. The program offers workshops, support groups and a website resource that helps students with learning disabilities get into college and be successful in life. End
