Dining for Donation benefiting LIVESTRONG (The Lance Armstrong Foundation) at Applebees in Brewster

May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The Mendes Family is hoping to raise $25,000 for the foundation by the end of September in memory of friends and family lost to cancer. This threesome made up of mom, Rica, son Zachary and daughter Ariella, have put on bike rides & runs, charity nights at restaurants and recently a matinee of GREASE to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

The threesome, who are behind Fairfield & Westchester Counties benefiting LIVESTRONG, are bringing Brewster the chance to raise funds to support the 28 million living with cancer worldwide with a Dining for Donation Fundraiser at Applebees at 115 Independent Way, Brewster, NY 10509 on Tuesday, June 28. From 11am to close, bring a voucher (which can be found at http://www.weebly.com/uploads/6/3/3/7/6337714/8116048.jpg) to Applebees and the restaurant will donate 10% of your check (excluding the tax and gratuity) to the Mendes family's fundraising efforts.

"We want to make supporting LIVESTRONG open to everyone - regardless of their economic, physical or geographical situation," Ms. Mendes explains. "So many people think that LIVESTRONG is only for cyclists or marathon runners - and that's not the case! Grassroots LIVESTRONG Leaders like me are resources for everyone - from providing support and volunteering with local cancer fighters to fundraising and events for every person. My kids and I never want someone to say, 'Well, I can't ride 100 miles in one day, so it's not for me.'
