UserGate Mail Server 2.0: A New Mail Server Concept

May 5, 2011 - PRLog -- UserGate Mail Server is a secure corporate mail solution with integrated spam filtering and antivirus tools. The product is built from multiple modules, which makes it more failsafe and allows running the server on a distributed system.

UserGate Mail Server 2.0 supports the following spam filtering technologies:
- DNS-based filtering (DNSBL, RHSBL, Backscatter, MX, SPF, and SURBL)
- Filtering based on a distributed antispam system (Cloud Antispam)
- Statistics-based filtering (Bayesian filtering method designed by Entensys)

Cloud Antispam has a very low false response level - less than one in 1.5 million messages. At the same time, the spam detection rate is 97%.

The product features a flexible system of rules to manage spam check exceptions.

The user's mail is now protected by three antivirus solutions at the same time. They include Kaspersky Antivirus, Panda Antivirus and cloud-based Commtouch Zero-Hour. Cloud antivirus enables proactive virus detection, allowing you to begin fighting a new virus before it infects millions of computers.

Cloud-based technologies used in the product do not compromise communication confidentiality. Requests submitted by Cloud Antispam and Commtouch Zero-Hour to third-party databases do not contain data that could be used to reconstruct an original message.

Attachment processing rules helps secure corporate mail. For example, setting these rules to deny running executable files can protect computers from virus attacks.

The product also features a tool for user-friendly monitoring of messages received by mail server. This feature helps user track all actions applied to a specific message. Moreover, UserGate Mail Server supports multiboxes.

Mail server is capable of routing mail. The application will also verify the address specified in the route to make sure it is a valid address. If a message is sent to an invalid e-mail address, UserGate Mail Server generates a delivery failure report.

The latest version features Active Directory integration instead of synchronization that was used in the previous versions. The application supports IMAP integration with over mail servers.

There is no need in a console application to administer UserGate Mail Server 2.0: the new version uses web interface. The product also features a web-client to access mail as a regular user and a task scheduler.
