Metals: ferrochrome prices to rise by 20% in Q3 and Q4 in 2011.

May 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Sahit Muja: Albanian Minerals expect ferrochrome prices to rise by 20% in Q3 and Q4 in  2011.
Ferrochrome production is falling  due to reduced operating capacity and higher energy costs .

Ferrochrome producers worldwide settled benchmark price at USD 1.35 to USD 145 per pound for the Q2.

Albanian Minerals President Sahit Muja said "Steel ingredient ferrochrome, and chrome ore  will test new high prices in Q3 and Q4 of  2011 as production fails to keep pace with a jump in global demand for steel.
World's steel  production to jump to 1500 million tons in 2011.

The current stockpiles of ferrochrome in China, US, Europe, Brazil, Japan, and Russia are  low to fill the gap.

Rising prices of oil and coal is affecting prices for  Iron ore, ferrochrome and chrome ore for production and transportation.
Iron ore and Chrome ore prices are expected to rise  in South Africa,  Albania, Turkey, India and Kazakhstan.

Prices o ferrochrome will go up due to Jump in demand in China, India, US Turkey , Brazil and Germany and the Chinese government’s power rationing policy to meet its energy saving target which began at the beginning of September.

Albanian Minerals expect ferrochrome prices to rise by 20% in Q3 andd Q4 of  2011. The rise in oil, coal, raw material and freight rates generally drive  ferrochrome prices upwards.

Ferrochrome demand is expected to pick this year and into the next year.
