April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- A Denton, TX gamer continues his participation in a variety of video gaming events.

Patrick Scott Patterson, a 35-year-old Guinness World Record gamer, is preparing to head next to Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.

While in California, Patterson will become the first gamer in history to play "biotic games" at the Ridel-Kruse Lab at Stanford Bioengineering, using biological lifeforms to play video games similar to classics such as Pac-Man and Breakout.

Peabody Award Winning 'Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen' will be documenting the event for a story to appear sometime following the event.

"This is an interesting and historical moment in both science and gaming," Patterson said.  "Video games helped people become comfortable with computers and technology, so perhaps this could help people become comfortable with science.  I'm excited to have the opportunity."

The next day, May 7, Patterson will set up video cameras around his XBox 360 console set-up for an online broadcast of Call of Duty: Black Ops in which he will be going through the 15th and final "Prestige" level from start-to-finish in a marathon game that could run 24 hours straight.  In this attempt at self-challenge, Patterson will be playing online against players from around the world.

"Some of us still play online games without modded controllers and hacks," he stated.  "This will be a challenge to do cleanly like that in one sitting and against all comers, but I'm up for it, even with jet lag."

Patterson's upcoming schedule has another series of hurdles in late May through early June.  On May 28-29 he will be taking part in GameDay, a multi-player gaming web broadcast to help fundraise for the International Video Game Hall of Fame, an event he is helping to coordinate with the organization.

Just days later, on June 3-5, he'll be heading to the Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show to attempt to set two new world records live at the event.   Patterson then returns to the Dallas area on June 10-12 to play in a multi-generation gaming tournament called "The Gauntlet" at the A-Kon 22 Convention.  He also recently attended the Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwuakee, WI.

While excited for the thrill of competition and fun, Patterson hopes his tour can help bring gamers from everywhere together to help make it stronger.

"I'm always excited to travel, meet and compete with gamers from all generations and locations," Patterson said.  "Together we all make up this great gaming culture we are all part of and together we can make it even greater."

Patterson's website, which contains more information about his travel and broadcasts, can be found at http://www.PatrickScottPatterson.com.  It also contains historical data, video clips and information to help parents know what types of games may not be appropriate for children.
