What You Need to Know About Prostate Health Seminar

March 29, 2011 - PRLog -- On April 28th, Maryland Urologist, Dr. Kevin Blumenthal will be hosting an event in the HCGH Wellness Center, Medical Pavilion at Howard County to educate people for what they should know about prostate cancer. Free to the public the event starts at 7 pm EST and ends at 8:30 pm.

“Prostate cancer is a significant disease that is curable if found early enough,” says Dr. Blumenthal. “Screening is an important part of early detection.”  The purpose of this seminar is to educate people about the risks of prostate cancer and diagnosis options that patients may have during certain stages of prostate cancer.  Prostate cancer treatment is rapidly expanding in a forever changing technological world we have developed in today’s day and age.  With new age technologies procedures such as High Intensity Focused Ultrasound or HIFU are available to certain patients.  HIFU is a highly effective treatment option that is able to target and destroy the prostate glands’ cancerous tissue with pinpoint accuracy. HIFU can be used as a prostate cancer salvage technique when other non-repeatable treatments fail.
