    According to owners Wally and Don Sommer, the addition to their expanding business located at 7211 W. Mequon Road (Mequon Road and Hwy 181) which includes a Buick and Subaru dealership, further cements the family’s dedication to service and job growth in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
    “We are thrilled to be in a position to provide a greater selection of vehicles to our customers and simultaneously demonstrate our ongoing commitment in southeast Wisconsin,” Wally Sommer said of his family dealership that was established in 1947. “We’ve long heard our customers’ requests for trucks and SUVs, and we can now offer those options.”

GMC to the North Shore of Milwaukee

    The addition of GMC Trucks, which was acquired from 5 Corners in Cedarburg, makes Sommer’s the authorized GMC sales specialist and service provider in greater Milwaukee area. Sommer's is looking forward to adding the new GMC Terrain, Acadia, Sierra and Yukon products to their portfolio of vehicles being sold.
    While the ability to sell a respected line of trucks is important to Sommers’ business strategy, management is equally proud to create 15-to-20 new jobs with the acquisition.  The dealership currently employs 80 individuals.
    The GMC dealership will be located in the building that houses its current brands.  To accommodate their growth, Sommer's will begin construction in May 2011 on a new 16,000 square foot building which will be the new home of Subaru.  Once the new structure is complete, Sommer's will immediately renovate the existing building to provide a contemporary sales, service, and customer lounge areas.
    “Our Subaru growth has been phenomenal,” Don Sommer said. “We were No. 1 in Midwest Subaru sales for December and No. 2 in the entire Midwest for the 2010 calendar year”(having sold over 900 Subaru vehicles in 2010 and more than 1900 total vehicles for the year).  “We’re pleased and excited with these numbers in a challenging economy."
