Sommer’s Automotive is the #1 Subaru dealer in Wisconsin. “We have experienced a tremendous growth in our Subaru business and felt that, in spite of the challenging economy, the time was right to build a new state-of-the- Sommer’s has also completed the full renovation of their Buick-GMC dealership. The GMC franchise was acquired by Sommer’s in January 2011 and in a few short months they began the transformation from a single building to two separate dealership facilities. The renovation of the Buick-GMC facility provides contemporary sales, service and customer lounge areas. The growth of the Sommer’s Subaru franchise and the addition of the GMC franchise has also translated into additional jobs at the dealership. “As happy as we are with the success of our brands, the real satisfaction comes in the addition of great people to our company,” stated Don Sommer, Vice President of Sommer’s Automotive. John Sommer started the business started in 1945. Wally Sr. and Erna Sommer operated the business after John’s passing in 1963. The Sommer’s sons Wally and Don have worked in the business since they were 10 and now run the dealership together. Wallys son, Grant, has also joined the company, carrying on the family tradition. Sommer’s dealership moved to its current location in 1978 on a 9 acre site, a 27,000 square foot Buick GM facility, a 4,600 square foot car wash and detailing center, the new 16,000 square foot facility and now employ 104 people.
