The service can handle any type of devices, and the information is available over the Internet.
By: Gurux Ltd - That really is the case, it's not just marketing jargon. We have worked in device communication since 1998, so we have a good view over the branch. Nowadays many work on the move, and they need the up-to-date information of devices located elsewhere. The time was right for us, to expand from developing only software, to offer a full service over the Internet, and this is our answer to a demand that has been only growing lately. GuruxAMI Service is implemented as a cloud service, so the user gets it all from the service provider, Gurux Ltd. Gurux cares for server space, and maintaining the service. GuruxAMI being an Internet service, the user does not need to download and install any updates, Gurux does updating the service for them. In GuruxAMI Service the communication with physical devices is based on integrated applications, device services, that run behind the scene, and are not even visible to the end user. This makes GuruxAMI Service easy to use, and it requires no protocol expertise from the user. From the end users point of view, all devices are read and controlled the same way. Gathering of data can be scheduled, or carried out with on-line read requests. In both ways, the user gets to decide, what of the available data is retrieved. The data is then saved in a database, from which it can be either just displayed in the browser, or exported to a file. Another remarkable feature is the device templates brought into the service. The templates give the user a number of possibilities to include, or exclude, any registers of the device to control. One device can be controlled through one or more of these templates, each including only relevant registers to a specified purpose, when only the required information is brought to the end users PC screen. The user interface of the service is divided in three, one for administrating the system, one for controlling the devices, and one for visualizing of the gathered data. All three user interface views are consistent, and any of them can be selected by clicking the relevant tab, at any point, once logged in to the service. Being able to administrate ones system, the user has total freedom of grouping users and devices in it. With linking the groups together, as well as determining user rights, gives versatile possibilities to set up a system of any specific needs. At initial stage, the service covers reading the values from devices, such as water and electricity consumption meters, that use the DLMS/COSEM protocoll. Gurux is adding support to more protocols soon, ModBus and SNMP being the next. And, after the testing processes are finished, also editing, and writing values back to the device, are to be added in the near future. After that, Gurux will develop further features, and support for more protocols, according to the audience feedback, and demand. - Hopefully we'll get a lot of feedback from the very beginning. That's why we offer a free trial for every member of our community. All the user needs to do, is to create free user account at our site, at http://www.gurux.fi, and with it comes also a user account to GuruxAMI, in which the user can control one device for free, Kurunsaari says, and welcomes everyone interested to join in. # # # Gurux Ltd (est. 1998) produces easy-to-use software and service for device communication. With GuruxAMI you can easily gather data from any physical device, free of limitations caused by connection type, protocol, device type or fixed location. End
