| Resourceful Communities Of The Future, By Neil O. CampbellA Refined, Restyled and Repackaged concept of community living...
By: Neil O. Campbell Let’s talk about networking amongst neighbors; what does networking mean, and where did it come from and why is it important in life? According to Webster’s New World Dictionary, “networking is the developing of contacts or exchanging of information, as to further a career.” Networking amongst living things has been around since the beginning of life on earth, traces of networking can be found amongst animal species, insects and humans. Whenever there is an interaction with another living thing it is a form of networking whether it is defined as formal or informal. For example when people routinely go to venues such as salons, barber shops or favorite stores, this is a natural form of networking that most people take for granted as a means to cultivate meaningful relationships. Some of the most ancient forms of networking were found in African villages and tribes. When I was growing up, I was always told that “you never look for things when you need it; life is like farming… you have to prepare for the harvest.” In order to have and maintain valuable networking, one has to develop meaningful relationships with others over time. In today’s culture networking events are now like the television reality phenomenon, everyone is jumping on or creating their own version of the band wagon. As we all know in life there are good and bad, which means the majority of networking events are mere hustles to generate money from people who are desperate to connect with financial rain makers. I never saw a baby born running, so why do we embrace unnatural things in hopes of reaping natural things. The most effective natural form of networking is free… I will explain what they are and how you can change your mindset to embrace networking that will yield all desired outcomes. How can community networking benefit you? Let’s see… when you make your career and interests known amongst the people you share a community, people can start to subconsciously consider your interests. For example if a gold mine is around the corner… would you expect a stranger to tell you??? This sounds harsh but this is the reality of life when people do not know or trust you…remember that!!! Ask yourself the same question, would you volunteer information to people you do not know or trust? Whatever your response is this is likely how others will think or react to your interests. When buying a home your priorities have to be well in line or you risk catastrophic results in the future. The most imperative things to consider when purchasing meaningful and valuable real-estate are: community empowerment, economic positioning and timeless architectural aesthetics. This means not basing your purchasing decision solely on the features of a home, but more on the longevity of the community, how close in proximity it is to employment and how well the schools can help to properly educate your children. Don’t make the mistake of falling for pretty colors and shiny objects. Okay some might say “I don’t want my neighbors in my business, because they will hate on my progress.” That is fine, but if that is a major objective you should buy into a community that shares the same values. For example if you drive a Mercedes Benz, you probably want to live in a community where your neighbors can afford to drive the same standard of vehicle. There is an old time proverb, “when people have the same things you have, chances are they have no desire for the things you have.” Hence the saying “I can sleep with my doors open.” When you allow networking with neighbors to become a natural routine, all things are possible. This will enable you to develop trusting relationships with people you live amongst, which will bring a peace of mind knowing you are doing business with proven individuals. The fact you have neighbors confirm mutual values in economics and spiritual positioning. Here is how it works, let’s say a neighbor is skilled at: plumbing, electrical, computers or just the main decision maker in a large corporation; Proper schooling for young children today is a disaster in our modern society. The “daycare” concept is simply not enough… our children don’t just need a service of supervision, but a place to foster preparation. Viewing children merely as cuddly bundles of joy will not properly equip them with the tools necessary for optimum future survival. In RCOTF, children can begin a life of effective fundamental learning which will provide them with a broader platform of higher education in sustainable future careers; children can be embraced by trusted, passionate and respected individuals who share a mutual desire to cultivate winning minds and characters. Children as young as one year old can begin their journey of learning with positive educational reinforcement while parents are at work; having a late birthday will no longer justify being displaced but an opportunity to advance with peers. Through RCOTF our children can learn to develop long lasting relationships with childhood friends and embrace great community values. Driving across town to work and educate our children will become a thing of the past… sort of like the tape cassette. Precious time saved can be spent more with our families, networking and doing the things that make our hearts PUMP... Inflation is a silent enemy that is destroying minds, individuals, families, communities, cities, states, and nations. The only time most of us take notice is when we pump gas and buy groceries to feed our families. The concept of united community purchasing has been around forever, but has only been exercised by a few small groups of private individuals and corporate entities. Most people however do possess memberships to wholesale clubs such as Sam’s and BJ’s, but are no where close to the buying power of a community or a large corporation. Most people are not aware that the community in which they live is a living organization, which has the purchasing capabilities of any established corporation. Picture if you’re community could purchase: sugar, flour, fruits, meats, sea food, toiletries and other common household goods and services we all need; imagine the savings and value families could reap and enjoy. Envision being able to save 50% or more on annual purchases of goods and services, think about how it could increase the quality of life for most working American families… just imagine!!! # # # Neil Campbell Architecture LLC is a relationship driven Design Company, practicing the art of refining, restyling and repackaging the best of all forms of architecture.
