Nov. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Mozilla developers are trying to fix bug of the new Firefox browser. This error is by bad guys made use to install malware onto the victim's computer.

This vulnerability is discovered by security producer Norman in last month. Norman said, they have researched this error after analyzing the attack code that was surreptitiously installed on the site Nobel Peace Prize.

"If you used Firefox 3.5 or Firefox 3.6 Web to access on the Nobel Prize on early Tuesday, 26/10/2010 (when the attack was taking place), malware could be installed on the user's computer without warning, "Norman said in a press release.

In a blog posting, Mozilla confirmed, the attack has exploited an unpatched bug in the past and said they had heard from "a security research company" that the attack code has be used on the Internet.

"We have diagnosed the problem and is currently developing a patch that will be delivered to Firefox users as soon as testing is finalized" Mozilla said in the article posted on their blog.

Mozilla said the bug affected Firefox 3.5 and 3.6, but didn’t mention what operating system (OS) would be harmed. According to Norman, the attack on Nobel website aimed at Windows. It installed a Trojan program that can then be used by attackers to download more malware and basically control over the victim's computer.

Users who want to protect themselves against attacks can disable JavaScript in Firefox by unchecking the check box under the Tools menu in tab Content Options. Another way is that users can install the NoScript add-on, Mozilla said.
