Lear Werts LLP files lawsuit in Randolph County, Missouri arising from a fall from a ladder

Oct. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Lear Werts LLP filed a lawsuit on October 19, 2010 against an auto salvage company and its owner seeking to recover damages sustained by a former employee of the company who fell nearly 20 feet onto a concrete floor when the ladder he was working on slipped out from under him.
The lawsuit alleges that the plaintiff was attempting to fix a broken overhead garage door when an extension ladder slipped on water causing him to fall on top of the ladder when it crashed to the concrete floor below.  The plaintiff’s petition contends that the broken garage door allowed water to enter the garage and pool on the floor.  The lawsuit alleges that the auto salvage company knew about the water leakage problem but made no efforts to guard against the risk of fall which, according to the plaintiff, could have been accomplished by the use of protective equipment as simple as rubber mats.  The garage employee suffered serious injuries as a result of his slip and fall, including multiple herniated disks, a broken wrist, and damage to his face.  Lear Werts LLP is seeking damages on behalf of the plaintiff in an amount to compensate him for his medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and permanent disability.
