Now – 17th Oct / Paris Motor Show / Paris, France
Starting in 1898 the “Mondial de l'Automobile” is considered the world's first motor show! Don't miss the 'incredible collection’ – over 40 treasured automobiles plucked from museums of 10 car manufacturers…good thing exhibiting vehicles no longer have to prove their roadworthiness by driving from Paris to Versailles and back!

6th – 10th Oct / Frankfurt Book Fair / Frankfurt Germany
The most important marketplace for books, media, rights and licenses worldwide is unfolding right next door to our headquarters! As a new generation delves into an E-book on their I-pad, precious paperbacks are still in hot demand. Frankfurt is balancing the old with the new – exploring video, games and apps as methods of story-telling.

6th Oct / EU China Summit / Brussels, Belgium
The 27-nation EU and a delegation led by Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao will focus mainly on Economic links. Money is of course the driver of discourse with Asia’s industrial powerhouse but Europe is intent on raising again that niggling issue of human rights, along with their desire for China to open up its markets.

10th Oct / World Conker Championships / Oundle, England
This traditional school-yard English pastime refuses to die. Both young and old are currently honing their conker skills as the world championships approach. The crux of the game is to knock your opponent’s conker (made from a horse-chestnut seed threaded onto a piece of string) until it cracks. It may sound trivial but many take this ‘sport’ very seriously

9th - 10th Oct / Pipe Smoking World Champs / Estoril, Portugal
Contestants flock from all over the world to unite with their brothers – their fellow pipe smokers. Connected by their common love of this almost outdated and often frowned upon tradition, the pipe smokers light up and attempt to smoke their pipes for as long as possible without relighting…three hours later the last man smoking is cheered on by all, in hope of beating a record!

16th - 24th Oct / World Cup Gymnastics / Rotterdam, Netherlands
Muscles bulge as bodies hover in unthinkable positions…audience gasps with anxiety and sighs with relief as aforementioned bodies twist, somersault and land upright! Get your hands on breathtaking footage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships! Men and women from over 70 countries are attempting to qualify for the London Olympics.

30th - 31st Oct / World Crazy Golf Champs / Hastings, England
Move over Tiger Woods because crazy golf is way more fun and entertaining than regular golf! Around 50 competitive crazy golfers are gearing up for a solid weekend of putting through tunnels and around wacky obstacles. There’s big prestige and big prize money up for grabs (ok we admit the £3,000 winnings don’t quite compare with Tiger's earnings).
