4th Nov / World Fencing Championships / Paris, France
Fencing is “the action or art of using the sword scientifically” according to the Oxford dictionary. And what better location for this ancient combat sport than the majestic Grand Palais of Paris with more than twenty thousand spectators! France have won a total of 115 Olympic medals since 1896…and with home advantage they are likely to dominate!

Nov 5th / Ottery Tar Barrels / Devon, England
Time for another wacky English tradition – carrying 17 flaming barrels of tar through the streets of a small village called Ottery St. Mary. “Why?” you ask...the most widely accepted answer is to cleanse the streets of evil spirits. But it’s the crazy, slightly dangerous vibe and the enormous bonfire party which follows, that fuel this tradition!

Nov 6th / Chess Boxing German Champs / Berlin, Germany
A few blows to the brain mixed in with strategising over a chess board…an uncanny combination but Chess-boxing has an ever-growing following! The sport is returning to its Berlin roots with the Festsaal Kreuzberg hosting bouts between both rising stars and veterans, including an appearance by the game’s inventor “The Joker”.

7th Nov / MTV Europe Music Awards / Madrid, Spain
Pop-star mania and red carpet action go hand in hand at the MTV Europe Music Awards – get our crews on the scene to capture the glitz and glam! With performances from Katy Perry, Linkin Park and Shakira – not to mention the hot Eva Longoria hosting the show, and the legendary Bon Jovi receiving an icon award!

7th Nov / Wife Carrying World Champs / Hereford, England
Not the most 'politically correct' sport in the world but great entertainment none the less. Wife-carrying originated in Finland and has been picked up of course by wacky-sport loving Brits. Many are motivated by the impending laughs…but only the most determined will be rewarded with the wife’s weight in beer.

11th Nov / Carnival Season begins / Germany
It may not be Rio, but when it comes to carnival season the Germans know how to party! When the calendar reads 11.11 and the clock strikes 11:11am, Germany’s “fifth season” Karneval is officially on! Parades, dancing in the streets and copious beer-drinking are to follow in the coming months. Let us capture the colourful celebrations for you!

13th Nov / UK Rock Paper Scissors Champs / London, England
Don’t underestimate this activity as a quick decision making tool – Rock Paper Scissors requires wits, speed, dexterity and strategy. Far more than a game randomness, it has an official governing society regularly publishing scientific and psychological tactics to give competitors the upper hand. Explore this fascinating hobby with the experts on camera?

13th Nov / The Lord Mayor's Show / London, England
Pomp-and-ceremony is the order of the day, with a few fireworks over the Thames to top it off! As the tradition stands (since the year 1215 no less!) the new Lord Mayor of the city of London must pledge allegiance to the crown at the Royal Courts of Justice. The highlight though, is his journey in a golden coach with a 6000-strong parade!

18th Nov / World’s Biggest Liar Competition / Cumbria, England
Tune in to the greatest porkies on the planet at the World's Biggest Liar contest. The only opportunity where one is honored publicly for dishonesty…contestants have 5 minutes to spin the wildest tale in the most convincing manner. Strictly no props, scripts, politicians or lawyers allowed (apparently their professions give them an unfair advantage).

21st Nov / British Indoor Rowing Champs / Birmingham, England
The largest indoor sporting event in the U.K is about to unfold with over 2000 rowers, no water and no start or finish line! The National Indoor Arena in Birmingham will be packed with rowing machines and sweaty athletes attempting to row 2,000 virtual metres as fast as it’s all for a good cause.

27th Nov / Santa Claus World Champs / Samnaun, Switzerland
Yes it’s that time again…the silly season! And what could be sillier than the Santa Claus World Championships held in the snowy Swiss town of Samnaun. Father Christmases will battle it out in festive disciplines like chimney-climbing, gingerbread decorating, and gift-delivering from on top of a donkey (sorry the Reindeer refused to partake).

24th Nov – 24th Dec / Christmas Markets / Austria, Germany, France
The inevitable ‘slow news patch’ is on the way...a good excuse to showcase festive images from around the globe…like Europe’s Christmas markets - straight out of a fairy-tale! Evenings wandering the markets with a mug of mulled wine is a romantic pastime for locals, and now also a massive tourist-puller!
