Diabetes Outreach with a Network TV Twist

Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- The talk show landscape has a new entry featuring five divas of diabetes education and the ultimate host of diabetes outreach.  Divabetic The View, presented by national health and wellness nonprofit, Divabetic, takes the stage at Memorial Regional Hospital Diabetes and Nutrition Center in Hollywood, FL (4320 Sheridan Street - Esther L. Grossman Women’s Center) on Saturday, September 25, 2010, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, to spread wellness with a wow.

Divabetic The View showcases local healthcare professionals in a friendly and comfortable environment to examine issues and concerns of diabetes care, management and prevention. The program uses the format of popular daytime talk shows using current topics, news headlines, celebrity photos, showbiz gossip and audience participation to explore traditional diabetes education messages relating to food, fitness and daily self-care. Fun activities, games, free prizes and a nutritious lunch make this program a fan favorite.

An all-star cast of local healthcare professionals from the Memorial Healthcare System (FL) joins Max “Mr. Divabetic” Szadek, Divabetic’s perennial healthcare education host, to make the program a fun and upbeat experience.  They are:

Sonia Angel, RD, MS, CDE, Coordinator Diabetes Center - Pembroke Memorial Hospital. Ms. Angel also serves as president of the South Florida Association of Diabetes Educators (SFADE).

Amber Comegys, RN, CDE, Clinical Diabetes Specialist - Memorial Regional Hospital.
Monique Dane, RN, CDE, Pediatric Diabetes Specialist - Memorial Regional Hospital.

Teddy Speropoulous, LCSW, Director of Diabetes Bariatric and Nutrition Center, Employee Health, Wound Care and Ostomy Services - Memorial Regional Hospital.

Judi Wilcox, RD, CDE, Diabetes Nutrition Specialist - Memorial Regional Hospital.  Ms. Wilcox serves on the board of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE).
