Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- (New York, NY) – Divabetic, one of the country’s leading health and wellness nonprofits known for its Glam More, Fear Less style of diabetes outreach, calls upon lovers wherever they are to get romantic with diabetes education so that no one they love or care about struggles alone or in silence with the disease. “For Divabetic, Power of Love is not only a Grammy-award winning album by Luther Vandross, the organization’s inspiration, but also, a guiding principle for our unique brand of health and wellness programming,” states Max “Mr. Divabetic” Szadek, founder and executive director. He continues, “This month, we shine the spotlight on love to support those living with, at risk of and affected by diabetes.”

Divabetic’s monthly schedule of online and outreach programs begin February 1 with Movie Awards 2,  the latest release in the Divabetic Diabetes Numerology video series, which appears on Mr. Divabetic’s YouTube Channel. The video features a loving tribute to an Oscar-nominated film, My Week with Marilyn, and a plot line of a blood sugar high. Diabetes Numerology presents entertaining scenarios, trivia and self-care advice to help those living with diabetes develop confidence to manage a diversity of health care situations.

Diva TalkRadio, Divabetic’s online podcast channel, sweetens the month with exclusive interviews and live podcasts. On Studio d, beginning February 1 and continuing throughout the month, catch an interview with Chef Robert Lewis, aka, The Happy Diabetic. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, at 6:00 p.m., the live podcast, Diabetes Roundtable, pays tribute to a favorite red head and entertainment mogul, queen of film, television and comedy, the late Lucille Ball. The program includes a hot topic smack down on Paula Deen’s diabetes announcement with three certified diabetes educators aka The Divabetic Charlie’s Angels of Diabetes Outreach: Judi Wilcox, RD, CDE of Hollywood, Florida, Connie Frazier, RD, LDN, CDE of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Patricia Addie-Gentle, RN, BSN, CDE of Atlanta, Georgia; a Food Aisle Face-off between white and dark chocolate, a menu review of healthy dining choices at P.F.
