Only Two Weeks Left to Nominate for The Scottish Independent Retail Awards 2010

Aug. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Only two weeks remain for the Scottish public to dispatch their nominations for their favourite Scottish independent retailer of the year. The awards are to take place in the form of a glitzy ceremony on Friday 10th September 2010 at the city’s Thistle Hotel.

Organised by Creative Oceanic, the Scottish Independent Retail Awards will recognise how local businesses play a part within their local community. The awards look to give a platform to the local communities from which to voice their admiration and loyalty to their independent retailer of choice.

The aim of the Scottish Independent Retail Awards 2010 is to highlight the value of independent retailers to the communities and country they operate within; showcasing the diversity within the industry, recognising and rewarding the entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen which lies behind thriving independent retailers.

Amit Arora at Oceanic Group has said: “There are so many ‘cubby-hole’ independent retailers out there; so many boutiques oozing charismatic shopping. By introducing the Scottish Independent Retail Awards, Creative Oceanic hopes that these independent retailers will get the recognition and gratitude that they deserve.”

Creative Oceanic is looking for independent retailers and their patrons to nominate for the following categories: Convenience Store of the Year, Newsagent/Grocer of the Year, Off Sales of the Year, Fresh Produce Retailer of the Year, Hair & Beauty Retailer of the Year, Fashion Retailer of the Year, Accessories Retailer of the Year, Technology Retailer of the Year, Book/Stationery Retailer of the Year, Service Provider of the Year, Health & Lifestyle Retailer of the Year, and Eatery of the Year.

Closing on Thursday 26th August 2010, nomination forms will be directly distributed through Oceanic’s business partners and are available online at: www.independentretailers.info
