| ![]() Green Business Bureau Highlights New Nursery in New VideoThe Green Business Bureau has posted a new video highlighting member New Nursery and their sustainability efforts.
Rebecca Payne, New Nusery’s Marketing and Sales Manager, says that the company decided to go green because of customer demand. Many of New Nursery’s customers are high-end residential landscapers, whose customers, in turn, are becoming more environmentally aware and demanding materials and plants that are chemical free and healthier for their children, pets and the environment. Prior to becoming a GBB member, New Nursery was already an industry leader in sustainability practices, a reputation that led the GBB to approach them as a partner in creating the EIP-HN. The video demonstrates several of the nursery’s green practices, including the installation of a drip watering system that has cut water usage to 1/15 what was required before the system was implemented; “We are excited to build professional relationships like the one we have created with New Nursery,” Marcos Cordero, GBB CEO and Co-founder. “Expert input like that we received from New Nursery has helped to make our Eco-Industries Program the industry leader in setting sustainability standards for a variety of business types.” “We want to be an environmental leader in the industry, and encourage other nurseries to adopt more sustainable practices,” says Payne. “At New Nursery, we feel like the industry is on the brink of a green revolution. We think it is absolutely necessary to be more environmentally aware to thrive in this industry.” New Nursery is a wholesale provider of plants and trees to landscapers, landscape contractors and retail nurseries in the Southeast Texas region.
