How You Can Help Make a US Congressman - Anthony Mele - Running for US Congress - 17th Dist. - NY

Aug. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- A member of the House of Representatives' primary responsibility is to delineate the will of the people they represent.  It is not just to protect the interest of those who voted and supported him, but also for those who did not, equally and fairly.

My professional life has prepared me for the level of responsibility that I endeavor to assume.  The Framers of the US Constitution intended to populate a House of Representatives with common citizens from all walks of life.  They wanted them to bring common sense to law making and fiscal prudence to managing the public treasury.  The Framers desired fervently that they be imbued with a sense of honor, to do what is right even in the absence of a tangible reward, and away from the watchful eyes of witnesses. They should fearlessly speak truth to power.  They should be possessed of a clear sense of right and wrong.  And they should embrace the US Constitution as the foundation for all policy making and basis for debate.

Then as today, the opposition would kill the messenger  to silence the message.  They would destroy that which they could not control or possess.  They would denigrate that which they could not corrupt.  It has been in these darkest of times when true leaders arose from among the people to resist those who would attempt to enslave first the mind and then the body.  I am not a Congressman  yet.  I am a common sense citizen, as you are.

Today, I find myself as a viable candidate for the US Congress.  I am the target of vile personal attacks in an attempt to silence my message, to dissuade my efforts to speak truth to power, to discourage my motivation to bring common sense to the House of Representatives. I am further reviled because I refuse to be the sock puppet of a few manipulators who will stop at nothing to keep your money flowing into their pockets.

I tell you truly in writing, attested to by my signature, that I will not be silenced, dissuaded, or discouraged. Nor will I permit these ill intentioned overlords to be my puppet masters.  All this must end.  I am in the right moment in history to be a candidate for the US House of Representatives. I am armed with the right instrument of power: our US Constitution.  All we need to make me a US Congressman is a fearless, informed and motivated electorate comprised of voters just like you.  

Now is the time for you all to step forward and make a US Congressman.  In years to come, when we reflect on today and ponder the nation we have become, will you say, "I helped make the Congressman who restored our Liberty?"  Or will you lament, "I had the chance to make the Congressman who could have preserved our Liberty?"  Help make me your US Congressman.
