Tony Melé is the Republican Primary Front Runner

Aug. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- 55% of Republican voters polled in 583 of 617 precincts comprising 94% of the 17th Congressional District favor Anthony Melé as their candidate to unseat 22 year ultra liberal Democrat Eliot Engel.

56,942  17th Congressional District Republican rank and file Primary voters polled responded that Anthony Melé is their clear choice to take on the entrenched Democrat.  

"This trend of Republicans supporting the outside candidate above the establishment candidate is in alignment with the mood of the electorate around the country," said Melé campaign spokesperson Jeanine Vecchiarelli.  

She added:  "The Republican leadership in New York has been sent a clear message that business as usual will no longer be tolerated.  We have much work to do and I hope we can unite behind Tony Melé to get it done."
