Kleinhandler Campaign Denigrates Non-Combat Military Status

In primary run campaign tactics, Kleinhander Denigrates his opposition's Non-Combat Military Status.

July 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Not all military veterans saw combat duty.  Very many of them served in myriad capacities away from the front line.  While those veterans who saw time on the front line are deservedly honored for their extraordinary courage, their success depended in no small part on the faithful execution of duty by those whose assignments were less imminently dangerous but equally crucial nevertheless.

This is why all military veterans, regardless of their assignments, are revered equally by the vast majority of U.S. citizens.  And the vast majority of combat veterans recognize their non-combat counterparts as equals; at least, that is, until now.

In a desperate attempt to jumpstart his sputtering campaign for NY's 17th Congressional District seat, combat veteran York Kleinhandler has resorted to demeaning and denigrating the service record of his opponent, non-combat veteran Anthony Mele.  Mr. Kleinhandler and his campaign staff are attempting to smear Mr. Mele by spreading lies about his military accomplishments and awards.  Mr. Mele refuses to respond in kind, and always publicly hails Mr. Kleinhandler for his brave service to our nation.  Mr. Mele also openly invites any and all investigation into his military record.

When the illegal Stranger Owned Life Insurance (STOLI) scandal broke, many people wondered how a decorated, honorable combat veteran such as Mr. Kleinhandler could have demonstrated such a glaring character lapse.  Witnessing that same decorated, "honorable" combat veteran publicly put his service record above that of a non-combat veteran and smear that non-combat veteran answers many of the character questions raised about Mr. Kleinhandler.

Apparently, anything goes in the effort to rebury the STOLI issue.  Even turning his back on the military code of honor.
