July 25, 2010 - PRLog -- The symptoms of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) are all too familiar to office workers, writers and other professionals throughout the country. Numbness, tingling, and loss of dexterity are just some of them.

However the RSI Association, the leading authority on all RSI matters, has backed the effectiveness of the Alexander Technique in treating these debilitating injuries. The Alexander Technique, the postural retaining method developed by Frederic Mathias Alexander, has been backed by several key studies as an effective way to reduce RSI.

The Technique, which can also alleviate stress and back pain, has been singled out by the RSI Association for special praise: “The effectiveness of the Alexander Technique is well documented and has been the subject of several scientific studies. It is increasingly recommended by doctors, and many medical insurance companies will pay for lessons if these are prescribed by a consultant.”

STAT qualified Alexander Technique teacher Carla Radford of Alexander for Hornchurch (http://www.alexanderforhornchurch.co.uk) agrees with the opinion of the RSI Association, saying: “The Alexander Technique is just as effective at treating RSIs as it is for back and neck pain. RSIs are a serious concern in the workplace and the sooner people understand the benefits of the Alexander Technique the quicker they can become pain free.”

Carla Radford is currently looking to work alongside local businesses in Havering and surrounding boroughs to help educate staff and management in the benefits of the Alexander Technique for children and is offering a free staff room talk. Any interested businesses may contact Carla for further details on 01708 451983 or info@alexanderforhornchurch.co.uk.
