By: Special Events Management Highlights of the 27th annual festival include more than 40 music acts on five stages, a kids' carnival, food vendors and a new arts & crafts component: the Lill Street Art Fair. Fest hours are Noon-10:00 p.m. both days on Lincoln Avenue between Fullerton and Wrightwood in Chicago's DePaul/Lincoln Park neighborhood. Gate donation for adults is $7 before 4:00 p.m.; $10 after 4:00 p.m. In addition to a bevy of local/regional pop, rock and blues acts and popular local cover bands (see attached schedule), among the headliners on Taste of Lincoln Avenue's music stages will be Minnesota alt-rockers Soul Asylum, Chicago roots rockers The Freddy Jones Band, soul/R&B legend Otis Clay, and acclaimed Australian harmonica/didgeridoo whiz Harper. Other highlights include… •The NEW "Lill Street Art Fair" on Lill between Lincoln and Halsted featuring the works of more than 30 artists. •The ever-popular free kids' carnival from Noon-6:00 p.m. each day on Altgeld between Lincoln and Halsted (entrance on Halsted) that features stage entertainment, inflatables, a petting zoo and pony rides. •A wine garden at Lill Street and Lincoln. Proceeds benefit the Wrightwood Neighbors Association which, in turn, makes grants to charitable and educational organizations serving the local community.
