May 13, 2010 - PRLog -- What company does not want to reach its full potential?  Even mom and pop shops that pride themselves on staying small because it is part of their appeal need to make adjustments to keep their venture running smoothly.

Geeks On Site has provided IT support for small to mid sized businesses since their inception- and they are offering some ways to help your company grow.

Individual attention has always been a priority for Geeks On Site.  Customers are greeted by name, and they are asked about their kids, their dog, and how their last vacation went.  Geeks On Site employees know their customers, which serves their customers well.  One Geeks On Site sales team member remarks, "It's not just about 'closing the sale,' we genuinely are interested in our customers' lives and that's where we stand out from the 'one-stop shop' computer superstores."

“We have clients who have been with us since the beginning, almost 8 years ago,” says George Otte, Geeks On Site company president.  “I know the longtime customers personally, because I was the one initially assisting them, back when we were just a two person operation.”

Be unique.  Geeks On Site is distinctive in that the company consists of a diverse staff.  Employees are from different cultures and backgrounds, all working together, which creates an environment that is full of fresh perspectives.  Not only is the company bursting with energy and new ideas- but all Geeks On Site employees have a common trait:  entrepreneurial spirit.  “My goal is to keep the company the only one of its kind- we are not the ‘Wal-mart’ of computer repair, nor are we the somewhat tech savvy guys next door.  I do everything I can to set us apart from the rest of the computer repair and support companies in the country,” remarks Geeks On Site president George Otte.

Accept responsibility.  It’s the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about, but a company will not survive for long without it.  Credibility is key if you are serious about wanting your business to last.  The biggest problem?  Mistakes.  Everybody makes them but nobody likes to talk about them.  We are human and mistakes are unavoidable.  Sometimes an appointment might be missed, a customer overcharged, or a repair goes awry.  The solution?  Own up to it.  Admit where the situation went wrong, listen to the customer as they express their dissatisfaction, then move on to finding a resolution that will make both sides happy.

Look Ahead.  As much as some of us might like things to remain the same, the truth is everything changes all the time.  It is important to watch your industry and your customers needs- as they change you have to adapt.  Companies make mistakes by thinking they have a good thing going, so why change it?  However, you can find yourself all too quickly surprised when half your customer base starts calling that new firm across town.  Even if your competition seems gimmicky- take them seriously.  You never know what their full business plan is, so while you can feel confident about your own enterprise- do not think you are untouchable.
