Help boost job prospects with nextstep West Midlands during Adult Learners’ Week

May 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Adults across the West Midlands are being given an ideal opportunity to boost their job prospects during Adult Learners’ Week.

Expert careers advisors nextstep West Midlands offer free advice and guidance to help adults improve their skills and are encouraging people to get involved in the week long campaign which runs from Saturday, May 15 until Friday, May 21.

More than 66,000 individuals have already benefited from the impartial careers, employment and skills advice offered by nextstep West Midlands during the last 12 months.

The service was launched in 2008 and offers people over the age of 20 support at venues across the area on employment, training and learning, including help with putting together CVs, interview skills and searching for jobs and course directories.

Rachel Harrison, of nextstep West Midlands, said: “Adult Learners’ Week is a perfect time for adults across the region to take advantage of a whole host of the learning opportunities that are available.

“Since launching two years ago more than 86,000 adults have taken advantage of the free face-to-face advice and support offered by qualified nextstep advisors.

“This has helped adults discover skills they may not know they had and in turn this has led to people across the area changing career paths and finding the job they always wanted.”

More than 400 qualified advisers offer support from 250 venues across the region, including colleges, job centres and community centres.
