Steatite’s APU

The Steatite APU is a bespoke battery solution that is designed to be used in extreme temperatures and outdoor conditions.  Perfect for use in covert operations where equipment requires power source over a long period of time.

Steatite APU’s  use lithium rechargeable batteries, which have a higher energy density than other types of rechargeable, up to 4 times larger than the average Ni-Mh rechargeable. They also operate at higher voltages than other rechargeables, for example 3.7v compared to Ni-Mh which operates at 1.2v so less cells can be used to produce the same voltage.  Having a much lower self discharge rate than other rechargeables, enables them to be stored for months and still retain most of their charge.

The case is IP67 rated which means that the case is dust tight and protected against the effects of temporary immersion in water. Using stainless steel pins in the hinges and handle means no corrosion and hence no loss of strength.
