April 13, 2010 - PRLog -- New Cardiovascular Horizons (NCVH), a multidisciplinary meeting focused on PAD (peripheral artery disease) and peripheral interventions, has joined The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium. NCVH is the largest “head-to-toe” cardiovascular meeting to concentrate on limb salvage and amputation prevention techniques. The meeting will take place June 2 – 5, 2010 in New Orleans at the Roosevelt Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and Conference Center.

The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium is a hospital membership organization with an organized and systematic approach to heart failure accreditation and the continuum of care.  As a member of the Colloquium, NCVH has expanded its reach to provide practical screening tools and education in the field of PAD among health care providers at Heart Failure Institutes around the world. The education forum is based on the presentations of leading worldwide clinicians focusing on screening, diagnosis, disease sequalae and staged treatment options in tandem with live case presentations of complex interventional procedures. NCVH provides a forum for the most state of the art medical procedures and therapeutic options available  in the treatment of PAD today.

“We want to increase the awareness of PAD and common risk factors that are overlooked,” said Course Director Craig M. Walker, MD. “We can create awareness and suggest screening methods that can save not only legs, but lives. And, we bring all of the specialties that care for patients with peripheral artery disease together to find new ways to treat this common and lethal disease. It is important to globally assess and provide the best patient care from the very beginning. A high percentage of patients do not need amputation, rather only some type of medical management and wound care.”

Abstracts are being accepted through April 30. For more information on the submission process, please visit www.ncvhonline.com/abstracts. Registration is currently available at discounted rate of $399 through April 26. To register, please visit www.ncvhonline.com or call (337) 993-7920.
