Follow on Google News | Observe the Natural Beauty of GEO’s Paintings in Portals of Perception at Agora GalleryAgora gallery presents geo in portals of perception
By: Lee Eagle GEO’s large-scale paintings are a study of color, form, and stunning natural beauty. He expands the world by reducing it, zooming in to render with skill the lush petals, leaves, and protruding stamens of magnificent flowers. The bloom becomes a medium of contemplation as rich hues and forms overload our senses, and we are able to observe this ubiquitous entity from the fresh perspective of innocent eyes. His palette is as varied as a tropical rainforest, and brilliant violets crash into neon greens and crimson blazes against deep hues of shadow. His art is the bonding of a precious natural form with the canvas, giving it new life. "When the observer can enjoy looking at the canvas with the flowers and plants incorporated as an absolute decorative set, my goal as an artist is achieved." GEO has had a long journey in the arts, not just as a painter, but as an academic as well. His work has been exhibited in North and South America and in Europe. GEO lives in Houston, Texas. Exhibition Dates: March 23, 2010 – April 13, 2010 Reception: Thursday, March 25, 2010, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Gallery Location: 530 West 25th St, New York City Gallery Hours: Tues – Sat, 11a.m. - 6 p.m. Event URL: http://www.agora- Portals of Perception bridges the wide expanse of artistic possibilities, gathering together impressionist, realist, and abstract works. What we find, surprisingly, is not the differences but the similarities as these talented artists vocalize the inspirations of places, people, and feelings. While the particular visual language may differ, the spirit behind the works has many overlapping areas, because to be human is to realize ourselves within our mental and physical environs.
