Stephanie Elyse Patent: Graceful Beauty of Movement at Agora Gallery

NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of of New York artist, Stephanie Elyse Patent in Unbound Perspectives
By: Joyce

Feb. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Stephanie Elyse Patent creates intricately detailed abstract work with ink on paper, evoking a sense of introspective intimacy. Her background in theater and dance has deeply influenced her style; she focuses on movement, color, and form, creating art that weaves a graceful path across the page and into the viewer’s mind. Patent is swept up in the process of creation, yet for her that process is gradual and painstaking, based on integrity and frankness. She writes, "What is most beautiful is the real and raw" – and she slowly strips away the white space with line after line of ink to reveal throbbing, undulating ripples of emotion. Her art is unfettered by rigid plans; she approaches each blank page with a fresh eye, and her pieces reveal themselves to her as she works on them.
Stephanie Elyse Patent was born and raised in New Hope, Pennsylvania. She studied art and theater at Drew University, and currently lives in New York.

About the Exhibition:

The days may still seem short, but the artwork displayed at Agora Gallery this March will bring light, warmth and a sense of freshness to your day. Let yourself experience a new way of viewing the world through the work displayed in East Meets West: an Exhibition of Fine Art from Asia, in which talented Asian artists unite their personal abilities with their sensitivity to universal affairs, to create art which is often informed by their cultural heritage. Unbound Perspectives provides new insight into the world we live in, as the artists tread the delicate line between realism and optimism to show us both what is and what could be. In Reverie of Form takes us on a journey of discovery and delight that nonetheless relates to aspects of shared human experience, hinting gently at the wonder that we often ignore.
