Inovonics Launches New Software And Data Logger For Multifamily Submetering

March 9, 2010 - PRLog -- LOUISVILLE, Colo., March 9, 2010 – Inovonics, the leader in commercial grade wireless security products, today announced the availability of TapWatch 3 software and the RDL8500 remote data logger for submetering in multifamily environments. Together, TapWatch 3 and the RDL8500 combine to create the latest evolution to Inovonics’ submetering system enabling users to perform site-setup, retrieve meter-reads directly from multifamily properties and quickly generate information for billing purposes.

TapWatch 3 builds on the screens and activities of its predecessor, TapWatch 2, and features a user interface similar to the design of Microsoft Outlook® as well as improved password management techniques, an integrated scheduling tool and real-time site diagnostics.

Minol USA, an Inovonics customer since 2000, has been using TapWatch 3 and the RDL8500 in multifamily and military housing environments.  “The TapWatch 3 software is extremely user-friendly, and has features such as the scheduler that enable us to gather the information from different portfolios on different days,” said Chris Stimac, Field Operations Manager for Minol USA,

There are several options for communicating between TapWatch 3 and an RDL8500. As in previous versions, an analog phone line or a direct-wired connection may be used between a PC and the RDL. New to the RD8500 is the ability to connect via Ethernet. This option requires a commercial router, a public static IP address from the ISP, and configuration of the DHCP table in the router.

“The RDL8500 Ethernet communications capabilities gives us flexibility in installation—and combined with the new software’s check-in monitor, it provides the installer intelligent feedback as to signal strength so we know the unit is at optimum performance,” said Stimac.
