Attorney Mark Tanner to Serve as Faculty Member at Pennsylvania Association for Justice CLE

Oct. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Attorney Mark W. Tanner of the Philadelphia personal injury law firm Feldman, Shepherd, Wohlgelernter, Tanner, Weinstock & Dodig will serve as a faculty member at a Pennsylvania Association for Justice continuing legal education seminar on Nov. 20, 2009. The program, “Insurance Bad Faith Litigation” is slated for 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Top of the Tower on Arch Street in Philadelphia. Tanner will instruct approximately 285 attorneys in the nuances of bad faith litigation. Those attending the CLE will receive four substantive CLE credits.

Tanner previously secured one of the largest insurance bad faith verdicts ever reported in Pennsylvania. He will address the Jurinko $7.9 million verdict, punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, and the standard jury charge regarding willingness to settle. Others will address the history of Bad Faith Law in PA, issues in the combination Breach of Contract / Bad Faith case, assignment of Bad Faith rights in excess verdict cases, statutes of limitations, declaratory judgments, attorney-client privilege and work product.

An accomplished trial lawyer, Tanner also previously secured one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts ever awarded in the courts of Pennsylvania. Last year, he negotiated an $11 million settlement on behalf of his clients in a personal injury matter. For the past two consecutive years, he has been named as one of the Top 10 "Superlawyers" in Pennsylvania, and he has been recognized as one of the Top 100 “Super Lawyers” in Pennsylvania for all six years in which the list has been published. He has served on the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors since 1997, and was named President of the organization in 2007. In 2006, Tanner became one of the youngest attorneys ever invited to become a Fellow of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Attorneys, which limits its membership to 500 lawyers in the country.

Tanner’s practice includes medical malpractice, disability insurance claims, insurance bad faith, product liability and class action litigation. He frequently serves as faculty in programs devoted to the development of trial advocacy skills and continuing legal education both locally and nationally.
