Mosaic Harmony's Spring Concert

April 29, 2009 - PRLog -- Oakton, VA —Mosaic Harmony, an interfaith, multicultural community choir, will present two concerts in celebration of 16 years of service to the Greater Washington, D.C. area.  “Celebrating Harmony: Making Us One” will take place Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 7 p.m. at River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 6301 River Road, Bethesda, MD 20817, and Sunday, May 17, 2009, at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA 22124.

Mosaic Harmony’s concerts are high-energy, inspiring performances that leave people of all beliefs feeling uplifted and encouraged.  Songs range from traditional African-American gospel to new music written by our dynamic and talented director, the Reverend David K. North.

Mosaic Harmony draws on the rich heritage of African-American inspirational music to demonstrate and encourage unity in the midst of diversity.  Mosaic Harmony brings together people of diverse cultures, ages, backgrounds, and more than 17 faith traditions to celebrate humanity.

Mosaic Harmony’s vision is to be a source of inspiration on a local, national, and global level.  The organization has raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities including Coats for Kids, Capital Hospice, Buganda University, the Brain Tumor Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity, the Lakota Nation, and many other good causes.  Mosaic Harmony performances have provided encouragement and hope to people with family members in hospice care, to residents of mental health facilities, to people living in retirement communities, and to the general public for 16 years.

Tickets for Mosaic Harmony’s spring concerts are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.  Tickets for adults over 60 and students are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.  Children under 12 attend free.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.mosaicharmony.org or by calling (703) 627-8096.

Mosaic Harmony is a multi-faith, multicultural community choir that draws on the rich heritage of African-American inspirational music. As a human mosaic, we strive to illustrate and encourage unity in the midst of diversity, one song at a time.
