April 8, 2009 - PRLog -- With the 2009 Powerboat P1 championship just one month away, rising British-based Supersport stars Team 26 have today launched their new Facebook and Twitter pages in order to interact with P1’s growing and global fanbase throughout the season.

The’ Team 26 P1 Racing Team’ Facebook site has already attracted nearly 300 fans but aims to become the definitive team fan club during 2009 as Team 26 fights for glory in P1’s highly competitive supersport category. Containing exclusive images and all the latest news, views and results, the Facebook site will be the first port of call for any powerboat fan.

The team has also dived into Twitter with the ‘Team26Racing’ page which will give even more personal insight into the team operations. The question of the moment: will Dan Cramphorn be the Jenson Button of the sea?

Team Owner and Pilot Dan Cramphorn said: “We are getting very excited by the start of the 2009 championship in Malta and we can’t wait to share this excitement with Team 26 and P1 fans. We have launched our new Facebook site to bring fans as close to the P1 action as possible. For those people not on Facebook, we also have our own Twitter page so that we can share our experiences on the water. I suppose we have to thank Jenson Button and the BrawnGP team for showing how to win so stylishly on the water during last weekend’s wet Malaysian Formula 1 race, but we hope to show them how it’s really done when we get to Malta. ”

Team 26’s Facebook page can be found within groups under ‘Team 26 P1 Racing Team’, while the Twitter page can be found at http://twitter.com/Team26racing

Just two weeks ago, the team announced it still had space on board for new sponsors. “We want to share our success on the water and are looking for partners to join us in our quest for glory,” said Dan Cramphorn. “We are the P1 new boys and we feel that there is no better time for people to get on board. We don’t want anyone to miss the boat!”

The first race weekend on the 2009 Powerboat P1 calendar takes place in Malta 8-10 May.
