Turkey Sets The Standard For Tourism

The Turkish tourism board have decided to set the standard for accommodation in the Country, in order to ensure that guests are looked after and to capitalise on the growing number of visitors to the Country.

Feb. 3, 2009 - PRLog -- Turkish authorities are setting a benchmarking standard for tourist accommodation throughout the country. This aims to capitalise on the growing number of foreign visitors choosing Turkey as a holiday destination and is also designed to improve the facilities of smaller hotels in less developed areas of the country.

According to Turkish news provider Hurriyet, the ministry of culture and tourism has devised a policy whereby accommodation facilities licensed by municipalities will be required to meet the same standards as those overseen by the ministry.

The standards are to be piloted in selected regions this year and the first phase includes the Eminonu district of Istanbul, Alanya and Bodrum.  Hurriyet recently claimed that 2010 to 2012 will represent "the next set of golden years for Turkey's real estate market", with the country's developing tourism industry contributing to property growth.
