The US subprime crisis has led to plunging property prices, a slowdown in the US economy, and billions of losses for the banks which has then spread all over the world.

The housing market has been one of the most affected by the crisis and this has been felt all over the world and has meant a down turn of the property prices.

Thus, the UK like many others countries has entered into a recessionary period.
