PRLog -- Dr. Brian Edwards is the director of pharmacovigilance and drug safety for NDA Regulatory Science Ltd., an independent consulting organization focused on the strategic and operational aspects of regulatory affairs. NDA provides assistance to both the pharmaceutical industry as well as regulatory agencies. The ultimate objective of NDA is to help to develop better medicines that reach the patient without unnecessary delay. Dr. Edwards holds a doctor of medicine degree from the University of London, Guy's Hospital Medical School. He is treasurer of the executive committee for the International Society of Pharmacovigilance, the European chair of clinical safety and pharmacovigilance for the DIA and chairs the panel overseeing the drug safety surveillance module as part of higher medical training for pharmaceutical medicine in the UK. Prior to joining NDA, Dr Edwards held senior level medical positions for Johnson & Johnson and at Parexel International, where his responsibilities included QP for pharmacovigilance, pre and post-marketing pharmacovigilance, risk-benefit assessment, crisis management and consulting on pharmacovigilance strategy, processes and implementation. Dr Edwards also has experience as a senior medical director within a global CRO, involved with clinical trials and studies at all phases of drug development, and was on the EU clinical trial directive implementation group. He is equally dedicated to community service and supports organizations that benefit the homeless. In his spare time, Dr. Edwards enjoys being with family, studying and travel.
