The partnership between PGCOC and Arbor includes providing the Chamber with interns through its work experience program (WEX), which is designed to introduce the clients to traditional and cutting edge work skills that today’s employers seek. Nicole Peters, Project Director states, “The Chamber was eager to do anything to provide support to the residents of Prince George’s County. As a result, our clients have been exposed to employers throughout the region, while gaining invaluable professional skils in real world work situations.” The Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit alliance of nearly 900 businesses, representing over 250,000 employees. Arbor Education & Training is one of the country’s providers of services for both the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Programs.
