Renowned Summer Arts Camp Announces New Two-week Sessions For 2008

Summer arts camp for music, dance, theater, visual arts and more has added 2-week sessions to make it easier for young people from NJ, NY and PA to attend.

April 2, 2008 - PRLog -- It was today announced that Appel Farm Arts and Music Center has added a new , two-week session to its highly regarded residential summer arts camp for young people ages 9-17 that runs June 22-August 15.  For the past 47 years, the prestigious ACA-accredited summer camp has run four and eight-week sessions of exceptional instruction in music, theater, dance, photography, video, recording arts, creative writing, sports and swim.  The new program will retain the same elements as the longer sessions, but will give families more flexibility in planning their summer, while still allowing their children to benefit from the individualized instruction and skill-building that are the cornerstone of the arts camp.

“ We are thrilled to be able to offer this new camp opportunity,” noted Camp Director Jennie Quinn. “We feel very strongly that we want to welcome all young people, and some children may feel a little tentative about a four-week program if they haven’t been to summer camp before.”

Set in a secluded southern New Jersey location nestled amid preserved farmland and orchards near Elmer (Salem County), Appel Farm Arts and Music Center is less than an hour drive from the major cities of Philadelphia and Wilmington and approximately a 2 1/2 hour drive from the Newark/New York area.  Swim and sports are also highlighted and the camp boasts a short-course Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Two-week session dates run June 22-July 6 and July 20-August 3, 2008 (Sunday-Sunday). Four week sessions run June 22-July 18 and July 20-August 15, 2008 (Sunday-Friday). The eight-week session runs June 22-August 15, 2008 (Sunday-Friday). A deposit is required to hold a spot for all sessions.

Parents are encouraged to contact the camp at (856) 358-2472 for more information and to speak directly to Ms. Quinn, or to Assistant Camp Director Cori North. Camp information is also available online at www.appelfarm.org/camp.
