Dr. Paul M. Parker, M.D. Offers Computer Imaging At Initial Consultation

Englewood Cliffs, NJ --- The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery, located in Paramus, New Jersey utilizes a professional photographer/ imaging consultant as a routine part of their cosmetic surgery consultations. Dr. Paul M. Parker, the Medical Director of the Parker Center and one of the area’s foremost plastic surgeons, will first meet with the patient to discuss the patient’s areas of desired change. Dr. Parker will supplement his discussion about the details of the proposed surgical procedure with computer imaged pictures of what the patient will look like following the surgery. Time is then spent with Dr. Parker’s imager and the patient carefully reviewing the proposed changes in detail. This part of the consultation has proved invaluable in clarifying the surgical plan. Dr. Parker states, “Most people relate to visuals well,   therefore we created a method for patients to see images of themselves in advance of any elective  cosmetic surgery.  This has become a vital tool that has a high degree of accuracy in our hands  and has proven to be an efficient way of communicating with our patients.”

All images are performed by Dr. Parker’s imaging consultant Liz Kobb, an experienced imager, who has trained plastic surgeons and their staff members across the country. Dr. Parker reviews these images the night before surgery as part of his pre-operative planning. He then brings the images with him to the operating room for surgery and uses the computer images much like a builder uses blueprints to build a house. Postoperative photographs of Dr. Parker’s patients have repeatedly  confirmed the accuracy of these images in predicting postoperative results. This type of predictability requires both and expert imager and expert surgeon working together on a daily basis so that both are aware of one another’s capabilities.

About Dr. Paul M. Parker
Dr. Paul M. Parker, M.D. graduated from George Washington University of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he was the recipient of the distinguished CV Mosby Award of Excellence. He completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at New York University Medical Center, where he received the Theodore Barnett Award for Excellence in Teaching. He also completed a fellowship in Microsurgery at New York University Medical Center's Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery with heavy emphasis on innovative methods of breast reconstruction.

Dr. Parker is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He holds a certificate of advanced education in cosmetic surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Additionally, he has been selected as one of the top surgeons in his field by Consumer's Research Council of America and has been named one of "America's Top Doctors" by Castle Connolly. He has also served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at New York University Medical Center.
