NSIRF Announces National "Defence & Strategic Technologies Grand Challenge 2025"

BANGALORE, India - Nov. 17, 2025 - PRLog -- Bengaluru, India

NeXorbi Scientific & Industrial Research Federation (NSIRF) today issued a National Call for Innovation through the launch of the Defence & Strategic Technologies Grand Challenge 2025, aimed at accelerating India's indigenous technological capabilities in priority defence and aerospace sectors.

The initiative forms part of NSIRF's ongoing mission to strengthen India's strategic autonomy, promote advanced research, and identify disruptive technologies essential for future national security requirements.

Key Mission Areas Announced

NSIRF has invited proposals addressing the following strategic technology domains:

• Autonomous UAV Swarms & Advanced Unmanned Systems
• Counter-UAV / Anti-Drone Defence Technologies
• Artificial Intelligence for Real-Time Intelligence & Battlefield Decisions
• High-Temperature & Extreme Aerospace Materials
• Compact Propulsion Systems for Strategic Platforms
• Directed-Energy Technology Concepts (Non-ITAR)
• Stealth Materials, Signature Reduction & Low-Observable Coatings

These domains have been identified as mission-critical for enhancing India's long-term defence resilience.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are open to:

• Indian Startups
• MSMEs
• Research Laboratories
• Universities & Technical Institutions
• Innovators & Deep-Tech Engineering Teams

Only Indian-owned and Indian-controlled entities are eligible to apply.

NSIRF Certification & Recognition

All shortlisted participants will be issued an Official NSIRF Innovation Certificate, acknowledging their contribution to India's R&D ecosystem.

Top-performing teams will additionally receive the NSIRF National Excellence Certificate, formally endorsed by the organization's senior evaluation committee.

Support for Selected Proposals

Selected innovations will receive:

• Access to NSIRF's Defence Innovation & Testing Infrastructure
• Technical guidance from senior domain experts
• Prototype development support under eligible CSR and research funding channels
• Priority consideration for NSIRF DeepTech Incubation Programmes
