He paved his way from refugee to a part of the Athlete Refugee Team by leveraging his fitness and athletic abilities. He was also chosen to be one of the few athletes who receive financial aid from their host country of France. He took his ability to overcome hurdles and took it to the track to become a steeplechaser (3000m). In 2023, he logged his best time of 8:34.72 at the Stade Raymond Troussier in Decines, France. How Idbafdil Gained Global Recognition Though Idbafdil is a Moroccan refugee living in France, he has never allowed statelessness to limit his potential. Making the smarter choice, he seized the opportunity to be an athlete by using his training and fitness. Then, he steadily made his way to becoming an athlete who could participate on the global platform. As an athlete who rose from a position of a refugee, Idbafdil has achieved a level of success that few can.
